What bike can I bring to Phoenix Bike Park?

We recommend the use of appropriately sized, modern bikes with good-quality hydraulic disc brakes in the park. E-bikes are permitted, but throttle-actuated e-bikes are not. We do not recommend riding road, gravel, cyclocross, or any bike equipped with dropped handlebars. Before heading out to ride, we recommend performing a quick M-check on your bike to ensure it’s safe to ride. Please make sure you have bar ends installed, as not having them could lead to serious injury. If you need help checking your bike, the friendly staff at Brink will be happy to assist. Please contact them for more details.

Can I pay on the day?

Pre-booking is not necessary to ride, but please note that our booking system for the current day will close at 9 am. Once you arrive on site, please head over to our kiosk on the shop side, fill out the waiver if you haven’t already, and pay for your ride.

I think there is something up with my bike. Do you do repairs?

There is a bike shop on site. They carry a good variety of spare parts, and the friendly mechanics will definitely try to help you. Although some parts and problems may require extra time to source and resolve, we recommend not leaving repairs to the last minute. Alternatively, bike hire is also available through Brink. What safety gear do I need to wear?

Helmets are mandatory at Phoenix Bike Park and you will not be allowed to ride without one. We also advise wearing weather-appropriate clothing, gloves, eye protection, knee pads, elbow pads and body armour.

Are kids and beginners welcome?

Absolutely, all ages are welcome at Phoenix Bike Park! We have areas to suit all abilities, from absolute beginners and balance bikes to pro riders. We have a kids' pump track, which is ideal for young children new to riding or on balance bikes. Not only that, but our shop-side park has been rebuilt with beginners in mind. We have a skills area where you can practice pumping and jumping. Why not try our new adventure line? Perfect for beginners or even balance bikes, located at the skills area.

Moving onto the north side, we advise riders to be competent at handling their bikes and able to ride faster trails with level pedals. Our trails become more technical on this side and may not be suitable for everyone. We have been building many trails with beginners and progression in mind. Our favourite new areas include the Phoenix Lap, which features the infamous Drop City, as well as our two new jump lines, Donald Jump and Forest Jump. The Phoenix Lap is an exhilarating 2 km loop with fun features like drops, jumps, a wooden wall ride, and North Shore balance obstacles. All the challenging features have alternative lines if you’re not ready to take on the challenge just yet.

Can I ride in all weather?

We aim to stay open all year round, however, there are occasions when we have to close due to severe weather including heavy rain, strong winds, snow, thunderstorms etc. If you have a booking and we have to cancel, we will be in touch to reschedule. We always recommended keeping an eye on our social media (@phoenixbikepark) as we always have the latest information about closures on there.

How fit do I need to be?

You don’t need to be a pro-athlete, however, a healthy level of fitness is required to be able to safely handle and manoeuvre a bike around the trails.

Can non-riders come along?

Absolutely, if you don’t fancy riding or just want to spectate then you are more than welcome. We just ask that you stay on the marked paths and walkways and don’t walk or wait on the bike trails

Is there parking?

Yes, there is ample free parking on both Shop and North sides. Don’t forget to check in when you arrive via our Shop side kiosk.

Do you have a café on-site?

There is a café on site called Breadline, they serve hot and cold drinks as well as food open from 9am to 4pm on weekends. Our shop side kiosk also sells cold drinks and snack open everyday.

Do you sell bikes?

We don’t but the on site bike shop Brink does. They carry many great brands of complete bikes, frames and offer custom builds. Find out more click here
